Hog and Kisses
Make a pop-up groundhog puppet using a paper cup, a craft stick (popsicle stick), and paper. You can act out Phil the groundhog popping out of his hole in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
Supplies Needed:
- Paper cup
- Craft stick (popsicle stick)
- Brown construction paper
- Crayons, markers, or tempera paint
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly eyes (optional)
Directions:
To make the groundhog:
- Cut a circle or oval from brown construction paper (this will be the body).
- Cut a smaller circle out of brown paper (this will be the head).
- Draw a mouth and eyes on the head (optional-glue on googly eyes).
- Glue the two pieces (the groundhog) onto a popsicle stick.
To make the groundhog's home:
- Cut a small slit in the bottom of a paper cup.
- Decorate the paper cup with markers or tempera point.
- Insert the bottom of the popsicle stick into the hole.
You now hove a pop-up groundhog puppet to tell the forecast!

You can share these crafty jars full of candy with your Valentine! It’s a creative way to give yummy treats to the ones you love.
Supplies Needed:
- Baby food jar and lid, washed, rinsed, and dried
- Valentine fabric scrap
- Low temp glue gun
- Pinking shears
- Yogurt lid (or similar size)
- Pen
- Red "Painters" paint markers
- Pink "Painters" paint markers
- Pink craft paint
- Red craft paint
- Paintbrush
- Candy
Directions:
- Use the paint markers to draw on a few hearts on the side of the jar. You may wish to add a TO/FROM on the jar itself as well. Let dry.
- If creating the fabric covered lid, then trace around the yogurt lid on the wrong side of the fabric. Cut out with pinking shears.
- Center the fabric, wrong side down, on the middle of the jar lid. Glue in place on the top and in places on the side of the lid.
- If creating the painted lid, then paint with pink paint. Let dry. Paint red heart on lid. Let dry.
- Fill the jar with Valentine candy.
- Fasten the lid on the jar.
- Give the candy jar to someone special for Valentines Day.

A gingerbread man with a message…a Valentine’s Day message! What an adorable way to give your Valentine’s Day message to the one you love.
Supplies Needed:
- Gingerbread shape
- Heart shape
- Permanent thin marker or "Painters" paint marker, in color desired
- 2 Wiggle eyes
- Pink craft paint
- Tan or brown craft paint
- Paintbrush
- Tacky glue
- Pin back
Directions:
- Paint the gingerbread person shape in tan or brown. Let dry.
- Paint the heart in pink or red. Let dry.
- Write a saying on the heart if desired.
- Glue the heart on the gingerbread person shape.
- Glue the wiggle eyes on the gingerbread person shape.
- Glue a pin back to the back of the gingerbread person. Let dry.
- Give or wear your cute little pin.
