Scratch and Sniff Painting with Clifford
You'll Need:
- Watercolor paints
- Craft Glue
- Fruit Flavored Gelatin
- Paper
- Paintbrush
Directions:
Draw a picture. (You can trace a picture from a coloring book or click and print this clifford picture.) Paint the picture with watercolors. After the picture is dry, spread craft glue a little at a time over the colored parts of the picture. Sprinkle fruit flavored gelatin over the wet glue. Let your picture dry. The craft glue dries clear and you have a sweet smelling picture.
Finger Tip Pictures
You’ll Need:
- Ink Pad
- Paper
- Colored Pencils or markers
Directions:
- Firmly press finger tip onto an ink pad
- Immediately press on paper
- Using markers add arms, legs, etc to the creation
- Kids may want to make animals or shapes as well
Frosty Snowmen
You'll Need:
- Styrofoam balls in two or three sizes
- Small black pom-poms
- Felt
- Scissors
- Styrofoam glue
- White tempera paint
- Glitter
- Toothpicks
- Floral Foam
Directions:
Decide which ball will be the "base" of your snowman and cut about 1/2" off the bottom so your creation can stand. Paint and glitter Styrofoam balls using the technique outlined below. When paint is dry, stack balls with toothpicks, using Styrofoam glue to hold them together. Dress the snowmen with hats, scarves, earmuffs, and other winter gear cut from felt. Add black pom-poms for eyes and mouth.
Snow Family Finger Puppets
You'll Need:
- 1 white knit glove
- Glue
- Pom Poms
- Paint
- Paint brush
- Scissors
Directions:
- Glue on chenille stems and pom poms for ear muffs or hats
- Dip the handle end of a small paint brush into black acrylic paint. Carefully dot on eyes and mouths. (Practice this step on the thumb first if you plan to discard it the way that we did.
- Allow everything to dry.
Tambourines
No celebration is complete without tambourine music!
You'll Need:
- Paper or Plastic Plates
- Jingle Bells
- Curling Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hole Punch
- String or Yarn
Directions:
- Punch holes all around a paper plate. Push the base of a jingle bell through each hole stringing a piece of yarn through each and tieing in place.
- Tie on curling ribbon and curl with scissors.
- Cut long pieces of curling ribbon. and tie to the core of the spool. Curl with scissors.
Snowflake Mobiles
You'll Need:
- White Paper
- Scissors
- 2 Craft Sticks
- White paint
- Glitter (if you choose)
- White String/silver ribbon
- Paintbrush
- Glue
Directions:
- Cut paper snowflakes out of the white paper.
- Paint the craft sticks white and let drive completely
- Cut the string or ribbon into 4 different lengths and glue one on the back of each snowflake.
- Tie a ribbon at the top of the craft sticks leaving enough to hang.
- Then tie the snowflakes onto the mobile, one string on each end of the craft sticks.
